In 2012 Overnewton celebrates its twenty fifth year of providing first rate affordable education in the north-west of Melbourne. This is a significant milestone for any school and one that we will celebrate with pride and gratitude. There are several special events planned for the year, most significantly:
- The official opening of the Keilor Junior School in April
- A whole College Founders Day service in the Taylors Lakes Campus Gymnasium in June
- The Silver Anniversary Ball on Friday, August 17
- A College Performing Arts Concert on Thursday 23 August
- A major tree planting initiative to mark the anniversary in early Spring
- A major exhibition of art acquisitions to be held in November
- The launch of a new publication, the Twenty Five Year History
There is much to celebrate this year. As we reflect back on the important features of the new school that our founders set in place in the late 1980's, we can be most grateful of the strength of the relationships that exist between the family and the school, which has always been a crucial aspect of an Overnewton education. In spite of the increase in size of the College over our twenty-five years, this relationship continues to be strong and is at the centre of all interactions with students.
