LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH (LOTE)

The LOTE program in the Junior School is offered to students in Year 3 and Year 4.  The students study Indonesian and explore its rich culture through a variety of literacy activities and communication tasks that are linked to every day life and general learning.  Students are taught to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Communication in a language other than English allows learners to reflect on language as a system and to become culturally aware and develop an openness to engage with other cultures.
