introduction to Prep
PREP 2012
The Prep year is a special year of induction for your child. We aim to provide an experience that nurtures your child’s self-esteem, allowing them to realise their full potential and to be caring members of the College community. Your child will be guided and supported in a positive environment to develop academically as well as socially and emotionally.

Play Dates
Each campus holds Prep Play Dates in November at Kidz City. Information will be distributed to parents in advance of the event or parents can contact the Junior School at your child’s campus for dates and times.
Prep Information Night
For families with children commencing Prep in 2013 an information night will be held in the Multipurpose Room at Taylors Lakes Campus on November 12th at 7.30 p.m. and in the Assembly Hall at Keilor Campus on November 13th at 7.30pm. Parents will receive an information pack which contains important information and they will also have the opportunity to meet the Prep teachers and other key staff members.
Prep Transition Program 2012
The Prep transition program at Overnewton includes four transition mornings for pre Prep students. This begins in October each year and follows through at regular intervals until the end of the school year. This provides ample opportunities for students to become familiar with their new environment, build relationships with staff and become comfortable with their peers before the first day of school the following year.
Transition Dates
Taylors Lakes Campus - October 16 and 24 and November 8 and 20.
Keilor Campus - October 12 and 26 and November 2 and 15.
Assessment Week
Prep students will be given a one hour appointment for an assessment in the first week of school. This will provide teachers with individual information regarding each child's abilities. Information regarding appointment times for your child’s assessment will be sent to parents before the end of Term 4.
