Overnewton House Program
All students are placed in one of four houses. The four houses all named after famous scientists, reflecting the emphasis the College had in its early years on science and technology. The houses are:
Curie (Red) - Named after Madame Marie Curie (Polish) 1867 - 1934, Double Nobel Prize, 1903: discovered Polonium, Radium; 1911: Chemical and Medical application of Radium.
Newton (Blue) - Named after Sir Isaac Newton (English) 1642 -1726, Calculus, Universal Gravitation, Optics, Chronology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Three Laws of Motion, Binomial Theory
Pasteur (Green) - Named after Louis Pasteur (French) 1822 - 1895, Microbiologist, Chemistry, Pasteurization, Germ Theory, Sterilization
Edison (Gold) - Named after Thomas Edison (American) 1847 -1931, Inventor with over 1000 patents: Telephone, Photography, Incandescent Light Bulb, Electirc Generating System, Motion Pictures, "Genius id 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"
