A thriving community, united in purpose.
Overnewton’s Community Engagement Program invites every member of our community to contribute in ways that are meaningful to them, strengthening connections and enriching the College experience for all.
Together, we grow a stronger Overnewton
Overnewton’s Community Engagement Program is an integral part of our College's ongoing journey to strengthen connections and foster meaningful relationships. This program is designed to support our students, our programs, and our broader College community, enriching the Overnewton experience for all.
With a proud Christian foundation, we champion volunteerism, fundraising, advocacy, and growth, fostering a vibrant community dedicated to collective success and supporting others. These values form the four key pillars of our Community Engagement Program.
Our approach to community engagement respects the diversity of the modern family, offering flexibility and choice. Parents, step-parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbours, Old Collegians and parents of Old Collegians, and friends of the College, everyone is invited to engage with the College in a way that feels meaningful. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, advocating, or supporting our growth, there are countless ways to be a part of the Overnewton story.
Hear from Overnewton parents Rob, Corinne and Michelle as they share why volunteering at the College has been such a rewarding experience.
Volunteerism
At the heart of our Volunteer Program is a spirit of service that invites you to contribute your time, expertise, and commitment in ways that work for you.
Through our Volunteer Portal, volunteer opportunities are accessible and flexible, allowing you to choose how and when you can make a difference. This initiative not only supports the growth and excellence of our College but also cultivates a culture of giving that inspires our students. By engaging with the program, you help demonstrate the value of service, fostering deeper connections within our community while setting a powerful example for the next generation.

Fundraising
Building on the deep connections within our community, we encourage meaningful contributions that support the College’s projects, vision, and future success. Our goal is to create a culture of generosity that aligns with our strategic goals and ensures the long-term strength of the College. More importantly, we strive to cultivate an environment where giving extends beyond the College walls, instilling in our students the value of contributing to worthy causes and community groups throughout their lives.
Advocacy
We believe in the power of connected communications and strong bonds to drive engagement and advancement. By sharing pride in our work and what we offer our students, we aim to amplify the voices of our community members and advance our mission together. Your voice matters. Through active participation, we can continue to make meaningful strides in enhancing our community.
Growth
By driving enrolment growth, we expand the strength, reach, and impact of our College community. At Overnewton, we want every individual to feel valued and welcomed. Our collective efforts will help ensure the continued growth and prosperity of the College, creating an environment where everyone thrives.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
