Each Junior School class has a 50 minute library lesson each week. These lessons focus on literature and information skills, incorporating the use of research resources, the interactive resources and iPads. Students provide with opportunities to borrow from the large collection of quality picture books, novels, non-fiction books, CDs and DVDs.
The library is open every day, before and after school, in addition to lunchtimes.
Special lunchtime activities include board games, colouring sheets and movie days. Students are also encouraged to use the comfortable atmosphere of the library to read their favourite books during the additional opening hours.
The library facilitates the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, with many Junior School students participating each year.
In August each year, the Junior School celebrates Book Week, welcoming guest authors and illustrators, holding competitions and hosting a spectacular dress-up Character Parade.
