Prep them well for VCE

Middle School Library

Year 5 and Year 6.

Library classes for students in Years 5 and 6 are designed to develop their appreciation and enjoyment of literature and their information literacy skills. Literature sessions encourage students to borrow regularly and read widely. They learn to respond to texts in a variety of ways, research authors, explore different genres of writing and participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Information Literacy skills sessions enable students to begin framing their own research questions, to locate and select a variety of relevant online and print resources, and to organise and present the results of their research. They also begin to develop the skill of compiling a simple bibliography to support their research.
