A Night of Celebration at Hamer Hall
On the evening of Tuesday 14 October, our College community came together at Hamer Hall to celebrate a truly memorable Presentation Night. The evening shone a spotlight on our Class of 2025, who will soon gather for their Final Assembly, as well as the outstanding achievements and contributions of our students throughout the year.
The musical performances by our Performing Arts students were nothing short of exceptional, showcasing the depth of talent across our College. We also took the opportunity to thank our dedicated 2025 Student Executive for their service and warmly welcome welcome the incoming 2026 Student Executive, who officially commence their roles today.
Heartfelt addresses from our 2025 College Captains Charlie O'Sullivan and Nathan Yuan, Principal Emily FitzSimons, Chair of the College Board John Durow, and 2024 College Dux Dylan Gekas added inspiration and encouragement, particularly for our Class of 2025 as they approach their upcoming exams.
What a wonderful celebration of achievement, leadership and community pride as we near the end of another outstanding year at Overnewton.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
