Bands in Concert Celebrates Musical Talent
Our Festival of Music continued with an impressive showcase of our concert bands, with more than 130 students across seven bands taking to the Clocktower stage for Bands in Concert.
The concert highlighted the impressive range of talent, enthusiasm and musicianship within the College’s band program. Several students performed in more than one ensemble, demonstrating not only their musical versatility, but also the dedication required to rehearse and perform with multiple groups.
Congratulations to all of the students involved for their hard work and dedication. A special thank you also goes to the staff who directed and supported the ensembles, and to everyone who contributed to making Bands in Concert such a memorable celebration of music.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
