We are proud to announce that Overnewton has been named a finalist in the Sustainability Victoria 2025 ResourceSmart Schools Awards!
Recognised in the School Volunteer of the Year category, this nomination celebrates the outstanding work of our Parent Sustainability Group, whose passion and dedication continue to inspire our students, staff, families, and wider community.
Since 2022, Overnewton has received no less than six finalist nominations and achieved two award wins - a testament to the incredible commitment of our community to sustainability leadership and action.
This year's judging panel was particularly impressed by how our parent volunteers have worked hand-in-hand with the College to drive meaningful change, from energy audits and policy development, to community initiatives like the Party Kit Network.
Congratulations to our Parent Sustainability Group and everyone involved!
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
