Overnewton Girls Shine at ACS Cricket Gala
Thirty-five talented students from Years 7–11 headed to Albert Park in early November for the ACS Girls Cricket Gala Day. It was a wonderful celebration of skill, teamwork and College spirit.
Across three exciting pool matches, all three Overnewton teams demonstrated their cricketing ability and determination. Their strong performances saw both Overnewton A and Overnewton B finish on top of their respective groups, each earning a place in the grand final.
In an impressive achievement for our College, the final became an all-Overnewton showdown! The match went right down to the wire, with Overnewton A securing victory on the very last ball. It was a thrilling finish that crowned them back-to-back champions.
Congratulations to all players for their effort, sportsmanship and teamwork. You represented the College with pride and helped make the day a fantastic success.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
