Reflecting on a Successful Year with the Melbourne Victory Performance Program
The final Melbourne Victory Performance Program session for 2025 was a chance to celebrate our participants and reflect on Overnewton’s unique role as Melbourne Victory’s first Performance School.

Across the year, each before-school session delivered targeted coaching for all ability levels, supported by coaches with experience from the A-League to pre-academy pathways. Students benefited from high quality training, with several invited to pre-academy trials and girls’ accelerator programs.

At the final session, Year 7 students Ethan and Phoebe, and Year 5 student Lincoln, were recognised for their consistency, effort and development, each receiving an official Melbourne Victory training jersey generously provided by the Club.
With the program now expanded to eleven schools and more tournaments and opportunities planned for 2026, excitement continues to grow and the future of football at Overnewton has never looked brighter!
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
