Academic Scholarships for Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9 entry in 2026

Overnewton is committed to recognising and nurturing academic potential. Each year, the College offers a select number of Academic Scholarships to outstanding students entering Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and continue through to the completion of Year 12, providing long-term support for students who demonstrate a strong commitment to learning.

Applications for the 2026 Scholarship Program are now closed.

Scholarships are open to both current Overnewton students and those attending other schools. We welcome applications from families who are seeking an education that blends academic rigour with character development, service and community engagement.

All candidates are required to sit an external examination administered by ACER, an independent national testing body. This ensures that all applicants are assessed equitably, based on a reliable and standardised measure of academic ability.

Families considering applying for future scholarships are encouraged to read the Overnewton Scholarship Policy. This document outlines the eligibility criteria, testing requirements, and the conditions under which a scholarship is awarded and maintained.

Overnewton’s Academic Scholarship Program reflects the College’s commitment to supporting students who will make the most of the learning opportunities offered at the College, and who will contribute positively to the life of the school.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Marin Balluk people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Overnewton Anglican Community College stands. We respect the knowledge that will be forever embedded within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country and remember the loss of cultures, languages and Lands they have endured. Like the Marin Balluk people, we at Overnewton want to respect the Land, the cultures and the heritages, and learn from those who have come before us in the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of life skills, as well as continue with wise stewardship of our buildings and grounds. We honour their custodianship of this Land and offer them our deep respect.
