Learning Development and Support

At Overnewton we recognise that each learner is different, and we are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all. Our educators plan and cater for individual learning needs, whether supporting students with specific learning challenges or extending high potential learners, our programs ensure every student has the opportunity to grow with confidence and achieve success.

Catering for Additional Learning Needs

Our expert Learning Development and Support team works closely with classroom teachers and families to ensure students with additional learning needs are supported in a timely, targeted and empowering manner. Whether through tailored programs, small group instruction or in-class support, evidence-based strategies are implemented to meet students where they are and assist them to progress both in their learning and independence.

With experienced staff, differentiated learning and a focus on each student's unique journey, we create learning environments where students feel supported, understood and proud of their progress. It’s all part of ensuring every Overnewton learner is equipped to succeed, both in school and beyond.

Catering for High Potential Learners

We understand that high potential learners thrive when challenged in a supportive and stimulating environment. Our teachers, therefore, provide programs that specifically include extension and enrichment curriculum. From deepening and extending understanding through experiences to offering accelerated pathways in subjects such as Mathematics and VCE, we assist students to progress at a pace suited to their abilities.

Beyond the classroom we offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities, from participation in competitions to specialised programs, designed to build on students’ individual strengths and interests. These experiences support a well-rounded education, encouraging students to explore their passions and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them well throughout their academic journey and beyond.
