Performing Arts

The Middle School years mark an exciting stage for students to expand their horizons and pursue excellence in music.

At Overnewton, students are encouraged to refine their talents through individual music lessons and to extend themselves by joining our renowned Co Curricular Ensembles and Choirs. These experiences not only nurture technical skill and artistic expression but also foster discipline, collaboration and confidence. Through performance, students become part of a tradition of musical achievement that inspires pride and celebrates the very best of the Performing Arts.

Ensembles

Middle School students have the chance to be part of a dynamic range of Co Curricular music groups. For those learning an instrument, our ensembles offer the perfect stage to build confidence, sharpen skills and experience the thrill of performing with others. And for students who simply love to sing, our choirs are open to everyone - no instrument required - making them a wonderful way to connect, express and share the joy of music.

Ensembles include:

  • Choirs

  • String Orchestra

  • Symphonic Band

  • Gravity Band

  • Burrito Band (Year 6)

  • String Fusion

  • Rock Bands

  • Little Big Band
