Leadership at Year 9
The Student Leadership Model at Year 9 is designed to take into account that Year 9 is a year of great change and growth for our students.
Access to Leadership Opportunities
Traditional models of leadership lock students into roles from early in the year. The Year 9 model is open to students who include the Leadership subject in their subject choice.
Discovering Leadership Strengths
The Leadership subject is designed to help students discover and develop their talents as a leader. Everyone has the potential to lead, and every day provides opportunities and possibilities to lead.
Leadership Skill Development
As part of the Student Leadership Team students will develop the necessary skills and attributes of becoming a great leader.
Student-Led Projects and Initiatives
A major part of the Leadership Team is the development of project planning and directing the Year 9 school and community, including student-led assemblies.
College Values in Practice
Members of the leadership team will be able to work on their areas of passion and expertise in order to conceive, plan and deliver initiatives to and for the Year 9 cohort, whilst supporting the College Values of Learning, Excellence, Community and Respect and Overnewton Co Curricular Shields of Performing Arts, Be Heard, Activate, Synergy.
