Exploring Faith, Embracing All

Our Anglican foundation shapes a community where faith is explored, diversity is embraced, and every student can find meaning and belonging.

Our Anglican heritage provides a strong Christian foundation that shapes life at Overnewton. It helps create a community where compassion, respect and service are deeply valued. These qualities reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. While rooted in Christian tradition, we proudly welcome students and families of all faiths, cultures and backgrounds, embracing the richness and perspective that diversity brings to our College.

Religious Studies

As part of their learning, all Junior School students attend regular Chapel services. These experiences encourage students to explore ideas of faith, meaning and spirituality in an age-appropriate and thoughtful way.

Through our Religion and Values Education (RaVE) curriculum students are also introduced to the beliefs and practices of other world religions, as well as the profound spirituality of Australia’s First Nations peoples. This broader perspective nurtures empathy, critical thinking and a deep respect for difference.

More than just learning about faith, students are supported to reflect on its role in shaping communities, influencing ethical decisions, and building strong, respectful relationships. They also develop the skills to interpret the Bible and other sacred texts, helping them engage with the world around them in a thoughtful and compassionate way.
